Sugar Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 100g (½ cup) unsalted butter, softened.
02 - 80g (⅔ cup) powdered sugar.
03 - 1 egg, room temperature.
04 - ½ teaspoon vanilla extract.
05 - 200g (1½ cups) all-purpose flour.
06 - 1 pinch salt.
07 - ½ teaspoon baking powder (optional).

# Instructions:

01 - Cream butter and sugar 1-2 minutes until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla.
02 - Mix in flour, salt and baking powder just until uniform. Form into ball.
03 - Wrap dough in plastic and refrigerate 30 minutes.
04 - Roll to 3mm thick, freeze 10 minutes, then cut shapes. Freeze shapes 15-30 minutes.
05 - Bake at 340°F for 8-10 minutes until edges golden but centers soft.
06 - Cool on sheet then rack. Decorate once completely cool.

# Notes:

01 - Keep up to 1 week at room temp.
02 - Freezes 3 months before or after baking.
03 - Wait to decorate until fully cool.
