Candied Carrots (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 pounds carrots, sliced.
02 - 1/4 cup butter.
03 - 1/4 cup packed brown sugar.
04 - 1/4 teaspoon salt.
05 - 1/8 teaspoon white pepper.
06 - Minced fresh parsley (optional).

# Instructions:

01 - Add sliced carrots to a large saucepan and pour in water to cover carrots by 1 inch.
02 - Bring water to a boil, lower heat, cover, and simmer 8-10 minutes until crisp-tender.
03 - Drain carrots and set aside.
04 - In the same pan, combine butter, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Heat over medium heat, stirring until butter melts.
05 - Add carrots back to the pan and cook and stir about 5 minutes until carrots are well glazed.
06 - Sprinkle with parsley if desired before serving.

01 - Makes a perfect holiday or Sunday dinner side dish. The butter-sugar glaze turns simple carrots into something special.
