Cherry-Chocolate Cookies (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup unsalted butter (softened).
02 - 1 cup granulated sugar.
03 - 1 cup brown sugar (packed).
04 - 2 large eggs.
05 - 1 tsp vanilla extract.
06 - 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour.
07 - 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder.
08 - 1/2 tsp baking soda.
09 - 1/4 tsp salt.
10 - 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips.
11 - 1 cup chopped maraschino cherries (drained).
12 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting).

Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, beat together 1 cup softened butter, 1 cup granulated sugar, and 1 cup packed brown sugar until creamy.
03 - Beat in 2 large eggs one at a time, then stir in 1 tsp vanilla extract.
04 - In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 1/4 cups flour, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 1/4 tsp salt.
05 - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until combined. Fold in 1 cup chocolate chips and 1 cup chopped maraschino cherries.
06 - Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
07 - Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until set. Let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
08 - Once cooled, dust with 1/2 cup powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness.
