Crispy Wonton Apple Pie Bites (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped.
02 - ½ cup granulated sugar.
03 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch.
04 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
05 - 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
07 - 24 wonton wrappers.
08 - Vegetable oil for frying.
09 - ¼ cup powdered sugar.
10 - Caramel sauce for drizzling.

Instructions:

01 - In a medium bowl, combine the chopped apples, granulated sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Stir until the apples are evenly coated. Set aside.
02 - Lay out the wonton wrappers on a flat surface. Place about 1 tablespoon of the apple mixture in the center of each wrapper. Fold each wrapper diagonally to form a triangle, pressing the edges firmly to seal. Moisten the edges with water if necessary.
03 - In a large frying pan, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Test the oil by dropping a small piece of wonton wrapper in—if it sizzles, the oil is ready.
04 - Fry the wonton bites in small batches, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
05 - Once slightly cooled, dust the wonton bites with powdered sugar. Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.

Notes:

01 - Tip: Serve the wonton bites with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent dessert.
