Double Chocolate Dream Cookies (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - ½ cup unsalted butter, melted (for brownie filling).
02 - 1 cup granulated sugar (for brownie filling).

05 - ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder.

09 - 1 tsp baking soda.
10 - 1 tsp salt (for cookie dough).
11 - 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (for cookie dough).
12 - ¾ cup granulated sugar (for cookie dough).
13 - ¾ cup packed brown sugar.
14 - 2 large eggs (for cookie dough).
15 - 2 tsp vanilla extract (for cookie dough).
16 - 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
02 - To make the brownie filling: Mix melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla in a bowl. Add cocoa powder, flour, and salt, mixing until smooth. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes. Cool completely and cut into 1-inch squares.
03 - To make the cookie dough: In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, cream softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually add the dry ingredients, then fold in chocolate chips.
04 - To assemble the cookies: Scoop 2 tbsp of cookie dough, flatten it, place a brownie square in the center, and wrap the dough around it. Repeat for the remaining dough and brownies.
05 - Place cookies on baking sheets, 2 inches apart. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are golden.
06 - Cool on sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
