Salted Caramel Rice Krispie Treats (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - Unsalted butter: 1 cup (2 sticks).
02 - Caramel sauce: 3/4 cup, divided.
03 - Kosher salt: 1/2 teaspoon + extra for garnish.
04 - Mini marshmallows: 1 bag (10 oz), about 6 cups.
05 - Rice Krispies cereal: 10 cups.

Instructions:

01 - Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
02 - In a large pot over medium-low heat, add the butter and 1/2 cup of caramel sauce. Stir constantly until the butter melts.
03 - Add the kosher salt and marshmallows, stirring until the marshmallows are fully melted and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat.
04 - Spray a rubber spatula with non-stick spray to prevent sticking.
05 - Fold in the Rice Krispies cereal with the spatula until well-coated with the caramel and marshmallow mixture.
06 - Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, pressing it into an even layer.
07 - Allow the bars to cool to room temperature, about 30 minutes to an hour.
08 - Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the cooled bars and sprinkle with kosher salt for garnish before cutting and serving.

Notes:

01 - For an extra treat, stir in chocolate chips or chopped nuts before pressing the mixture into the dish.
02 - Store the treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days, or freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 2-3 months.
