Strawberry Cheesecake Stuffed Donuts (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup warm milk.
02 - 2 teaspoons active dry yeast.
03 - 2 tablespoons sugar.
04 - 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour.
05 - 1/2 teaspoon salt.
06 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted.
07 - 1 large egg.
08 - 1 cup cream cheese, softened (for filling).

Instructions:

01 - In a bowl, dissolve the yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar in warm milk. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
02 - Add flour, salt, melted butter, egg, and the remaining tablespoon of sugar. Knead until smooth. Cover the dough and let it rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
03 - On a floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thickness. Use a donut cutter or round cutter to cut out the donuts. Let them rise again for another 15-20 minutes.
04 - Heat oil to 375°F (190°C) in a deep pan. Fry the donuts in batches until golden brown on each side. Drain on paper towels and let cool completely.
05 - To make the filling: In a bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Fold in the strawberry jam gently.
06 - Once the donuts are cool, make a small hole in the side of each donut. Pipe the strawberry cheesecake filling inside each donut.
07 - To make the glaze: Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the filled donuts.
