01 -
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
02 -
In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together and set aside.
03 -
In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
04 -
In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
05 -
In another bowl, toss the chopped apples with 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon.
06 -
Pour half of the batter into the greased loaf pan. Layer half of the chopped apples on top and sprinkle with half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Repeat with the remaining batter, apples, and cinnamon sugar.
07 -
Use a toothpick or knife to swirl the cinnamon sugar and apples into the batter for a marbled effect.
08 -
Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
09 -
Let the bread cool before adding the glaze. To make the glaze, whisk together 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 2 tbsp milk. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread before serving.
