Garlic Parmesan Rice (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup long grain white rice.
02 - 3 tablespoons unsalted butter.
03 - 3 cloves garlic, minced.
04 - 8 ounces chicken broth.
05 - 8 ounces whole milk.
06 - 1/4 teaspoon salt.
07 - 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
08 - 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated.
09 - 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped.

# Instructions:

01 - Rinse rice in fine mesh sieve to remove surface starches.
02 - Melt butter in saucepan. Add garlic and cook until lightly browned, about 1 minute.
03 - Add rice, broth, milk, salt and pepper. Bring to simmer, cover, reduce heat to low. Cook 18-20 minutes.
04 - Remove from heat, stir in Parmesan and parsley. Fluff with fork.

# Notes:

01 - Don't lift lid while cooking to maintain proper steam.
02 - Brown rice needs 45 minutes cook time instead.
