Classic Apple Pie (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 6 cups thinly sliced peeled apples (about 6 medium apples).
02 - 3/4 cup granulated sugar.
03 - 2 tbsp all-purpose flour.
04 - 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon.
05 - 1/4 tsp salt.
06 - 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg.
07 - 1 tbsp lemon juice.
08 - 1 double pie crust (homemade or store-bought).
09 - 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash).
10 - 1 tsp water (for egg wash).
11 - Additional sugar (for sprinkling).

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 425°F.
02 - Peel, core, and slice the apples. In a large bowl, mix the apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and lemon juice until evenly coated.
03 - Roll out one pie crust and place it into a 9-inch pie plate. Trim the edges.
04 - Add the apple mixture into the crust-lined pie plate.
05 - Roll out the second pie crust, place it on top, and crimp the edges to seal. Cut slits in the top crust for ventilation.
06 - Brush the top crust with egg wash (1 beaten egg + 1 tsp water) and sprinkle with additional sugar.
07 - Bake at 425°F for 15 minutes. Reduce the temperature to 375°F and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
08 - Cool the pie on a wire rack before slicing. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.

# Notes:

01 - Homemade Apple Pie is a classic dessert featuring a flaky crust and sweet, cinnamon-spiced apple filling.
02 - Serve warm for maximum flavor, paired with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
