Pioneer Woman Cheeseburger Pie (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 large onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
02 - 1 lb ground beef
03 - 1/2 tsp salt
04 - Black pepper, to taste
05 - Garlic powder, to taste
06 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

→ Batter

07 - 1/2 cup Bisquick mix or 1/2 cup flour + 1/2 tsp baking powder + 1/4 tsp salt
08 - 1 cup whole milk
09 - 2 large eggs

# Instructions:

01 - Set the oven to 400°F. Grease a 9-inch pie dish.
02 - Sauté onion in a skillet for about 3 minutes. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat and season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
03 - Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly in the pie dish. Sprinkle the top with shredded cheddar cheese.
04 - Whisk together Bisquick (or the flour mixture), whole milk, and eggs in a bowl until smooth. Pour the batter evenly over the beef and cheese in the pie dish.
05 - Bake the pie uncovered in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes until the top is golden and the center is set.
06 - Allow the pie to rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with a side of salad, pickles, or ketchup.

# Notes:

01 - For a crispier top, you can broil the pie for the last 1–2 minutes of baking.
