Frequently Asked Questions

→ Why freeze the egg rolls before frying?

Freezing helps the filling stay together and prevents leaking during frying. It also makes the wrappers crispier when fried.

→ Can I bake these instead of frying?

Yes, brush with oil and bake at 425°F for 15-20 minutes, turning halfway. They won't be quite as crispy but still delicious.

→ Can I make these ahead of time?

Yes! Keep them frozen for up to 3 months. Fry straight from frozen, adding 1-2 minutes to cooking time.

→ What's a good substitute for Monterey Jack?

Pepper Jack adds nice heat, or use a mix of cheddar and mozzarella. Any melting cheese works well.

→ Can I make these vegetarian?

Skip the chicken and add extra beans and corn, or use plant-based chicken alternatives. The cheese gives plenty of protein.
